Patrice is the owner of Provision Company. She holds a Masters degree from the University of Michigan (go blue!) with a concentration in Mental Health. She is also an Adjunct Professor for Spring Arbor University's Social Work program.
In addition to life experience, Patrice has over 10 years of experience in the social work field. She has worked in a variety of settings with diverse client populations, including school based programs, outpatient mental health, community agencies, and group private practice. Patrice pulls from all of her experiences to create the best plan and treatment approach for her client's specific needs.
Patrice specializes in working with teens, young adults, women, families/parents, and other mental health professionals. She aims to integrate all aspects of a person into her therapy practice, including one’s culture, spiritual beliefs, family background, gender, sexuality and much more. Patrice believes in strong therapy relationships and wants to set a foundation of trust that will ultimatley aid in the progress towards your goals. She actively listens and incorporates specific treatments tailored to you.
Patrice currently treats anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, trauma and stressor related disorders, and other life stressors related to work, identity, relationships and grief. She is also successful teaching behavioral, social or executive functioning skills to teens or adults
Patrice is passionate about taking a person-centered and strengths-based approach. She values the client over the therapist, and empowers the client to take ownership of their treatment and personal growth. Patrice works to highlight your strengths and incorporating that into your treatment. Patrice will make sure therapy is a supportive and non judgmental space, utilizing a team approach with the client.
Patrice also takes diagnosing and creating a relevant/useful treatment plan very seriously. She understands that misdiagnosis or not addressing the root problem can stagnate progress by placing a band-aid on the "wound". She will conduct a comprehensive assessment to gather details of one's life and symptoms, to guide the most appropriate diagnosis and plan.
Patrice's approach is personalized, integrating evidenced-based techniques. Some of the treatments she use are Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, ACT Therapy, Trauma Focused CBT, and Family Systems Therapy.
From first hand experience, Patrice understands how challenging the journey to healing and recovery can be. But also know how rewarding it is when you start to see progress. If you'd like to start, re-start or continue the journey to your desired life, I'd love to hear from you!
